North South Supply, Inc., family-owned wholesale irrigation and well supply distributor with 7 locations throughout central Florida, is looking for an assistant manager in our Umatilla Branch.

This position is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day activities of the branch, ensuring that the business objectives for the branch are achieved in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, and that company standards of customer service are upheld.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deal effectively with daily customer service issues. Establish and maintain a relationship with key customers.
• Schedules branch staff to ensure daily coverage including lunch, breaks, etc.
• Assist Branch Manager with supervising and enforcing all company policies and standards.
• Greet and assist call-in and walk-in customers with the selection and delivery of products and goods.
• Train and coach employees and new hires.
• Assist in interview and selection of new hires.
• Recognize personnel problems and take corrective actions as directed by the Branch Manager and company policy.
• Participate in inventory control and advise Branch Manager of problems
• Assist Branch Manager in safeguarding assets of branch: inventory, fixed assets, equipment and cash.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma with two years related management, sales, or operations experience in the plumbing distribution industry.
• Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge and ability to use MS Word, Outlook, Excel and inventory control system such as Prophet 21 (P21).
• Knowledge of irrigation, drainage, well supplies and landscape lighting products.
• Inventory control and warehouse operations
